Schueckler – Week 5 Question

Should we encourage preservation to be more provocative? To more aggressively encourage recognition of societal issues, so as to push for greater redress, and eventual reconciliation? How many problems are perpetuated by an unwillingness to acknowledge them or their systemic and historic causes? Is it the place of preservation to take such actions? Would we risk alienating large swaths of the population? Would this over-politicize preservation? Should preservation be more political?
