Intangible Heritage and Sustainability – Question for week 2

Sustainability can be studied in many different factors. As scholars mention it, preservation of historic (in its general definition) buildings instead of demolition them, is a positive demand in regard of energy saving impacts and sustainable development. On the other hand, historic preservation and cultural heritage, beside all their physical aspects and materiality, have a broader context of immaterial and intangible concepts, which are the core essence of the tangible factors. In such attitude, how the sustainable development can be fitted in cultural and intangible issues, and how it can be achieved? How much the preservation of actual intangible heritage can positively affect on basic approaches in sustainable development definitions and in what way?
