Cotton week 2

How could the sustainability movement incorporate the notion of values found in preservation theory? Perhaps age and aesthetic value have little place in the sustainability movement, but social and economic values certainly do. If sustainability is defined by social, economic, and environmental wellbeing, then could LEED somehow include community cohesion or economic viability in its performance categories to rate the “greenness” of a building? If both movements could operate on the same “context-dependent” plane, perhaps their efforts could more easily be aligned toward common goals.
